Twelve hummingbirds (some of them hard to find) are enjoying this vining summer plant, the Mandevilla plant. Lois Mountz painted this summertime piece using Winsor & Newton watercolors on French d'arches watercolor paper. Lois has done several paintings with hidden or hard-to-find subjects to give the painting an interactive experience for the viewer.
About Lois Mountz
Lois Getz Mountz has shown her works throughout the Ohio area for many years and has participated at prestigious shows from Virginia Beach, Va to Florida. Lois has won numerous awards through the years and has had many one-woman shows as well. She works in all painting media, but especially loves watercolors and oils. Most of her works are realistic but she has also painted many more contemporary 'scapes'. Lois is a retired church organist.
