Artist's Description
This tree with weathered roots has fascinated me everytime we have visited Buttermilk Falls in the Adirondacks of New York. So, I finally painted it. Obviously, the water spills over the rocks quite often, uncovering the roots a little more each time. It's a wonderful place to sit on the rocks in the shade of the trees to watch the water as it nears the edge of the falls.
About Lois Mountz
Lois Getz Mountz has shown her works throughout the Ohio area for many years and has participated at prestigious shows from Virginia Beach, Va to Florida. Lois has won numerous awards through the years and has had many one-woman shows as well. She works in all painting media, but especially loves watercolors and oils. Most of her works are realistic but she has also painted many more contemporary 'scapes'. Lois is a retired church organist.
